Ruby Slippers to Benefit Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation

One of our favorite movies of all time, The Wizard of Oz, is doing its part for charity. Actually, nineteen of the world's top designers are teaming up with Warner Brothers and Swarovski to reinvent the infamous ruby red slippers.

This collaboration is to commemorate the 70th anniversary of the movie, and the line up features leading names including Manolo Blahnik, Alberta Ferretti and Christian Louboutin.

Each of these designers will craft two pairs and the shoes will all make their debut September 4, during New York Fashion Week.

We can only imagine what the shoes are going to turn out like with these masterminds behind it, and the best part of all? The iconic slippers will then be auctioned off with proceeds going to the Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation.
